Mara Station Retreat Society was incorporated under the Society Act of British Columbia on June 4, 2008. An application for charitable status is pending.

Board members, the Executive Director and several individuals who assist with Society operations are all volunteers.

Primary Purposes of the Society

  • To provide residential retreats for adults with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses
  • To help people develop skills of inner healing to manage the effects of life-threatening illnesses
  • To provide opportunities for bereaved persons and others to participate in healing and learning programs
  • To provide programs of education and support for health care professionals and others
  • To fund raise and receive donations for grants, financial assistance and honoraria, and to offset retreat costs
