Mara Station Retreat

Location / Map

Mara Station is located in Mara, BC just 5 minutes south of Mara Lake along the Shuswap River in the North Okanagan-Shuswap Region.

Mara Station Retreat Centre Location
The Mara Train Station was moved in the 1970s from its original location beside the historic Shuswap and Okanagan Railway, across the road to its present spot on the bank of the Shuswap River. Where passengers once awaited trains on the platform, the deck now provides views to the Shuswap River. In 2005, Mara Station on the River B&B was constructed and connected to the original Mara Train Station, in order to provide two additional guest rooms for bed & breakfast accommodation. The Shuswap and Okanagan Railway is now only intermittently active with freight service once or twice a week. This provides our guests with an exceptionally peaceful riverside setting, and train enthusiasts with the chance to see the occasional working train on this historic railway line.
